I’ve known of Red Productions since they first started years ago, because their office was down the street from my house in Fort Worth. Last semester I emailed them to see if someone from their team would be interested in being a guest speaker at Short Film Club. That’s when Chris Rodriguez emailed me back. As a UNT alumni, he was happy to come tell his story and offer some advice. I was amazed hearing him speak, because he essentially repeated everything I’d been telling the kids in the club all year.
A few weeks later we grabbed lunch and talked about short films. He told me about one he had in pre-production, called Front Porch, about a family man going through hard times, getting some advice from his father. He asked me to be script supervisor on the shoot. But since that meant I’d only be working while they were filming (which is maybe 10% of the time), I offered to be their behind the scenes photographer as well. Here are some of the photos I took during the two day shoot out in Benbrook, TX.
