Rachel told me she’d be flying into DFW airport for her medical before becoming a flight attendant. She would only be in town for a few hours, but wondered if I’d want to do a shoot. I was thrilled! Especially since I’d missed her twice before while travelling around Texas, and had been wanting to get her photo for the cover of my new book, PORTRAITS: A Field Guide.
I picked her up at the terminal, and we drove to a nearby park off Grapevine Lake. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. A slight cloud cover kept the morning sun from being too harsh, and a gentle breeze kept us cool. Rachel is one of my favorite models because she really challenges me. Everything she does is beautiful, and I’m always in a mad rush to capture it all.
