Amanda Reyes – Sunrise.

My favorite actress / director, Amanda Reyes, was back in town for a screening of her short film Nickel at the Dallas International Film Festival. I had missed her so much ever since she moved out to New York for grad school to study directing at Feirstien in Brooklyn. The only time we were able to find together during our busy weekend was the crack of dawn on Saturday morning. She arrived to my house at first light, wearing a dress she’d bought the afternoon before specifically for her film’s screening. I drove us to my secret forest hideout, which …

Claire Morales & Rachel Gollay – “Suzanne”.

Claire Morales is one of the most talented and hard working singer / songwriters in Denton, TX. Last year she released her first full length album, Amaranthine, a surprise Halloween album with Daniel Markham called Harmony in Hell, and began a covers project by collaborating with some of the best musicians in the Metroplex. We first started working together by making a music video for her first cover in the project, “Strange” by Patsy Cline, as performed with Jena Pyle from Sundae Crush. Her second cover was “Summer Wine” by Nancy Sinatra Lee Hazelwood, as performed with Dalton Kane from …

“Wildest Dreams” by Claire Morales

Back in October we had the pleasure to film one of Claire Morales’ shows at Shipping & Receiving in Fort Worth, Texas. It was originally a class project for my film styles class, but this was just too good not to share with everyone. “Wildest Dreams” is a soft and energetic song with two very different sides. Claire’s voice is powerful and magical all through out while the band rocks out and pushes everything into a glorious rock and roll party. Alexander Hastings dance moves are the bomb right? (That’s the guy slaying away on the electric guitar). Ryan Williams …

Joseffa Trip – Winter Fairytale.

Joseffa Trip is one of my favorite models / actresses, and she is always a delight to work with. When I asked her if there was any sort of photoshoot she’d like to do, she said she wanted to be in a fairytale. Once we figured out exactly how we wanted it to look like, we ran into a couple of problems: 1) long, beautiful, flowing fairytale dresses are actually much harder to find than I would have guessed, and 2) it being the middle of winter, there wasn’t a forest around with any sort of green leaves. After weeks …

Heather & JD’s Wedding.

I was on my way back from a shoot, when I got Heather’s email, which was the most humorous email I’ve received from a bride-to-be. She told me they were planning on “using the infinite monkey theorem” when it came to wedding photography, by giving all their guests cameras, but she was worried they might not turn out great. Then she thought “maybe we could invite the People of Denton guy, and he might take a few good pictures?” Then she realized the best thing to do would be to hire me & Erin for real. And we were so …

Winnie & Ely – Wedding.

I first got a call from Winnie while I was in the middle of filming a short film. She said she was having a Justice of the Peace wedding, which piqued my interest, because I have shot a lot of different weddings, but the one I’ve wanted to most, but always seemed to miss, was a Justice of the Peace wedding. Winnie & her husband Ely are both from Congo, and mainly speak French (which is all I heard them speak to each other), and considering it was a Justice of the Peace wedding, were very prepared, since they filed …
